Anya Mirtova is a multidisciplinary artist whose work defies conventional boundaries. With a background in architecture from Tomsk’s University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, later transferring to the prestigious St. Petersburg State Institute of Film and Television, Anya’s artistic journey is one of constant exploration.
From a young age, Anna was passionate about drawing, starting with children’s art clubs, progressing through art schools, and eventually studying architecture at university. Later, she transitioned into photography and turned it into her profession. After facing burnout, she returned to drawing, finally allowing herself to fully embrace being an artist.

Anya’s art has garnered international recognition, finding homes in private collections across England, America, Montenegro, Italy, Thailand, Georgia, and beyond. Yet, despite her global success, Anya remains deeply connected to her own creative process, describing painting not just as a profession, but as a vital part of her existence. “If I don’t paint for a long time, I don’t feel well physically,” she admits. For her, art is not merely an expression, but a life force—a way of being.
Her work reflects her emotional engagement with the world. Every piece Anya creates is imbued with raw emotion, energy, and a desire to evoke a personal response from her audience. “I want people to find exactly what they are looking for when they look at my work,” she says, seeking to touch something deeper in the viewer. She hopes her art allows people to connect with their own feelings, to embrace them freely, because, as she believes, “Feelings are freedom.”

“I want people to find exactly what they are looking for when they look at my work.”

Anya’s creative philosophy centers on simplicity, naturalness, and a connection to the world around her. She describes her art as “frozen music,” a visual harmony that resonates with the soul. Her pieces act as mirrors to the viewer’s inner world, encouraging a reconnection with their emotions, desires, and forgotten dreams. It’s this ethereal quality—a tender, harmonious echo of nature—that defines Anya’s art.
What sets her apart is her unwavering commitment to traditional, tactile mediums. “I don’t paint with digital tools,” she explains. For Anya, the physicality of creating—the crumbling of pastels, the melting of oil paints, the scent of pencils—forms an inseparable part of her process. Through this tangible connection with her materials, she stays grounded in the essence of her work, bringing her raw, honest vision to life.

Anya Mirtova’s art is an invitation to pause, to reflect, and to remember the simple beauty of being human. Through her mastery of various forms, she offers a bridge between the viewer and their own emotions—a reminder of the soul’s voice in a world that often silences it.
